New College of California, founded 27 Years ago in San Francisco, has established a satellite campus in Santa Rosa dedicated to the study of culture, ecology and sustainable community. New College, a product of the sixties. emphasizes the integration of education and social change. At the new campus, efforts focus on building alternatives - a parallel universe of sustainable agriculture, commumity currencies, cooperative businesses, natural building techniques and holistic health, though the students still learn the traditional activist skills necessary to deal with corporate globalization and greed.
